About Ronald Koelink - foto-nautiek.nl

Ronald Koelinkphotographer, creative, technical, troubleshooter, fixer, organizer, improviser, making things happen.

At the start of my (military) career I was a graphic designer at the Audio Visual Services of the Royal Dutch Navy and soon picked up professional photography.
After almost 5 years of military service, I worked for 1,5 years at a data communications / IT company, being responsible for their PR and production of all (photo)graphic work. Hooked with the IT virus, I switched to Pink Elephant, an IT service company in the Netherlands, as a technical consultant.
As a tech consultant I worked for large companies such as Shell, NAM, Unilever, Lummus Crest, DOW Chemical, KLM, Esso, Fokker Space, and a few more. Main field of interest: ITIL Change Management and datacenter technology.

Ronald KoelinkAfter 12,5 years I left Pink to be able to spend more time on my own business and professional photography.
In 2001 NUON faced a few challenges in upgrading their IT infrastructure, so I was hired to design and build a new IT-room (incl. raised floor, electrical and cooling) for a large HP-UX environment in only 6 weeks time! Since then I kept working on datacenter projects as well as expanding my own photography business.

I'm specialized in nautical, technical, industrial and aerial photography, especially from wobbling and wet boats, high aerial work platforms, cranes and helicopters.
To be able to do my work safe I'm VCA-VOL certified (VCA is short for 'Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors') and have all safety gear for working at heights right at hand.
For work on the water I own a fast and seaworthy equiped RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) with (portable) VHF radio's and have all skills and licences needed to drive a fast boat and operate marine VHF radios.
For outdoor events I'm completely self-supporting with a camper-van, portable studio and ultra fast minilabs for producing high quality prints on the spot.
